MINUTES OF McMURRICH/MONTEITH TOWNSHIP COUNCIL MEETING – APRIL 11th, 2007
McMurrich/Monteith Township council met on Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 at 3:30p.m. in the municipal office/fire hall in Sprucedale.
Present were Reeve, Glynn Robinson, Councilors: Heather Wilson, Mervin Mulligan, John Murphy, and David Evans.
The Meeting was called to order at 3:30pm by Reeve Glynn Robinson. This special meeting was called in order to discuss the interviews and to hire a Roads Foreman.
Evans – Murphy That we go into a closed session at 3:30 to discuss employee wages. CARRIED Wilson - Mulligan That we come out of a closed session at 3:40pm. CARRIED Dave Evans has requested a recorded vote. Evans – Murphy That Council hire Mr. Jim Jenkins as the Full-time Roads Foreman effective as of April 16/07 at the agreed upon hourly wage with a 4 month probation period ending Aug 30/07. CARRIED Yays: Evans, Mulligan, Murphy, Wilson and Robinson. Nays: Nil
Council Concerns: Merv Mulligan reported that Muskoka Community Network has forwarded our application for satellite internet connection funding to Blue Sky Network as MCN does not service our area. Blue Sky Net reports they have a possibility of using a tower near Clear Lake to offer Wireless Internet.
Wilson – Murphy That we adjourn at 4:01pm until Monday, May 7th, 2007 or at the call of Reeve. CARRIED
